A film actor agreement is a contract between an actor and a film producer that sets forth the rights and obligations of each party. The agreement may cover such topics as the actor's compensation, performance rights, and publicity rights.
The contract is there to to protect the interests of both parties involved – you and the production company. There are two different types of acting contracts – the actor contract AND the model release (unless the two have been combined together under one document).
For smaller jobs, many actors negotiate their own contracts. But if you have an agent, there's a good chance they'll be the one negotiating on your behalf. Know that you always have the option to hire a lawyer to look over an acting contract before signing.
