After Mako's death, Greg Baldwin replaced him as Aku in Samurai Jack and Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
Due to the death of Mako, who originally voiced Aku, Tartakovsky at first considered using a completely different voice for the character. However, considering how Mako's voice was an important element of the character, voice actor Greg Baldwin was brought in to mimic the original voice.
Samurai Jack season 5 jumps fifty years on from the previous season and finds an ageless Jack still wandering the dystopian future trying to defeat Aku. Season 5 featured a darker, more mature tone than the original series and ended on a bittersweet note.
Making the jump to Adult Swim, Samurai Jack is finally able to feature bloodshed, but it also might shock fans of the Cartoon Network years to discover the inclusion of intense character development in this season, particularly in the first half.
Greg Baldwin is an American voice actor. He is best known for his roles as Uncle Iroh on the third season of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Aku on the fifth season of Samurai Jack, with the latter two as a voice match for the late Mako Iwamatsu.
