Lisa Ortiz is an American voice actress and voice director. She is best known for her roles in English anime adaptations, such as Lina Inverse in Slayers and Amy Rose in Sonic X. She voiced the latter character in the mainline and spin-off Sonic the Hedgehog video games from 2005 to 2010.
She was described to be 12 years old in Sonic CD, but from Sonic Adventure onward she has grown older, to the age of 29. Also, with the addition of Cream the Rabbit, Amy seems to have found herself a sidekick similar to Sonic's Tails (as implied in Sonic Battle, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Advance 3, and Shadow the Hedgehog).
In most canons, Amy is shown to have a crush on Sonic. However, Sonic rarely is shown returning these feelings. Amy usually does many things in an attempt to win Sonic's heart, but because she is often very impulsive, she ends up embarrassing Sonic and making him feel uncomfortable, causing him to run away from her.
SEGA canon affirms that Amy is “Sonic's girlfriend” and nothing more. Outside of that detail, they still pretty much function as friends interacting with a little flirting here, and a little Sonic running away there.
