Collins, 35, was part of the renowned 23 SAS, the regiment of highly-trained reservists, where he acted as a driving instructor, having previously trained in hand-to-hand combat.
Ben's bestselling memoir, “The Man in the White Suit: The Stig, Le Mans, The Fast Lane and Me”, pretty much sums up a career that has seen the former Stig drive the wheels off anything with wheels, from F1 to London Routemasters to (yes) Star Wars … and anything in-between.
Following Perry McCarthy and Ben Collins outing themselves as the first two incarnations of The Stig, it is strongly believed that the race driver portraying the third and so far, longest lasting incarnation of The Stig since 2010 is Phil Keen.
In his 2010 book The Man in the White Suit, the forty-three-year-old Englishman revealed himself to be “The Stig” in the British cult series Top Gear and, after seven years and 101 episodes, removed his helmet for the first time.
