Jeremy Lindsay Taylor as Petty Officer Peter 'Buffer' Tomaszewski. Buffer didn't have the best of luck on board HMAS Hammersley. First Nikki chose ET over him and then he was captured by a mercenary. He was eventually able to escape and left the crew for another posting.
In 2007, Taylor co-starred with Lisa McCune, Ian Stenlake, Saskia Burmeister, John Batchelor, Matt Holmes, Jay Ryan, Kristian Schmid, Kirsty Lee Allan, and David Lyons in the hit Australian drama Sea Patrol. He portrayed Petty Officer Pete Tomaszewski (Buffer) in 39 episodes from 2007–2009.
Other non returning cast members included Jeremy Lindsay Taylor (Buffer), whose position has been filled by Conrad Coleby (Dutchy) and Jay Ryan (Spider), replaced by Danielle Horvat (Bird).
Cheffo was a humorous character, and most likely left the Navy due to his engagement.
The fifth season of Sea Patrol, Damage Control, began airing in 2011 and consisted of 13 episodes. The Nine Network confirmed that this was to be the final season, due to reliance on government rebates that expire after 65 episodes.
