Gonzales portrayed Dan in the pilot episode only. Unfortunately, no reason was given as to why Gonzales was replaced. Studios changing actors and storylines after the pilot episode is not uncommon, so perhaps showrunners Idly Modrovich and Joe Henderson believed Kevin Alejandro to be a better fit.
Career. Alejandro was born in San Antonio, Texas to Mexican parents of Spanish and English descent. He was featured on the ABC series Ugly Betty, playing Santos, the father of Justin Suarez and love interest of Hilda.
Since the show was given one more season at the last-minute, Dan's death turned out not to be as final as intended. Dan comes back as a ghost trapped on Earth. He then possesses the body of his killer Vincent Le Mec, and meets with his daughter Trixie one last time.
Lina Esco was originally cast as Maze (Mazikeen), but the role was later recast with Lesley-Ann Brandt. Kevin Alejandro portrayed Dan. The following year in June, Tricia Helfer was cast as Lucifer and Amenadiel's mother, Charlotte, and she was to appear in multiple episodes in the second season.
In this alternate reality, he is a corrupt cop who agrees to help crooked lawyer, Charlotte Richards steal money from Lucifer, whom he despises. The two are successful and leave Los Angeles forever with the money.
