In Come Along With Me, after removing the Grass Demon from him in the shared nightmare juice dream, Fern reverted to his original appearance but began to disintegrate as he could have no body without the Grass Demon. Fern later disintegrated leaving only a seedling in the shape of the Finn Sword.
The grass demon first appears briefly in Reboot through the Finn Sword as Finn's Grass Sword merged with it, creating Fern.
Hayden Ezzy. Fern (voiced by Hayden Ezzy and Brad Neely in his Green Knight persona) is a grass clone of Finn that was created through the cracked Finn Sword and the Grass Demon that inhabited Finn's Grass Sword. He was initially confused by the presence of Finn and claimed that he was Finn, or rather was in denial about it.
