James Andrew Eric Phelps and Oliver Martyn John Phelps (born 25 February 1986) are English actors and identical twin brothers. They are known for playing Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter film series from 2001 to 2011 and have continued to work together as a duo on other projects.
The pair played Fred and George Weasley in all eight Harry Potter films and have continued to work as a duo on other projects, including the podcast Normal Not Normal. Both live in London; James with his wife, Annika, and Oliver with his wife, Katy, and their two daughters, Autumn and Emilia.
Fred and George Weasley are iconic fictional twins known for their incredible bond, charm, humor, and wit, despite their subtle differences. Physically, George is slightly taller with a longer face and a more curved upper lip, while Fred has a rounder face and a straighter upper lip.
After about six auditions, the twins were cast as Fred and George Weasley in the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. At the first table reading after being cast, Oliver was given the role of George and James was given the role of Fred.
They probably though of Harry as a sort of little brother and friend. They were not as close to Harry as Ron, but they liked him well enough and liked him being around the house and in their Hogwarts house.
