FAQs
There were reports that Renner may have had his leg amputated, but, thankfully, that doesn't seem to be the case.
He also shared an update showing that he is now walking again, with footage showing him walking on an 'anti-gravity' treadmill as part of his physical therapy. In the year-and-a-half following the accident, Renner says he has since 'accepted' that his life will never be the same.
The harrowing event left Renner with 38 broken bones and significant injuries, including a leg now mostly made of metal, as well as metal implants in half of his face and the entire right side of his back. Remarkably, he recalled staying calm even as one of his eyes was hanging out of his head.
In January 2023, Renner was run over by his 14,300-pound snowcat. The actor was hospitalized for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, including eight ribs broken in 14 places, left tibia broken, left ankle, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken and more.
In his accident, Renner was plowing snow at his Nevada home when the machine began to roll away while the actor was not in the driver seat. The snowplow ran him over as he tried to get back into it. “I was awake through every moment,” Renner told Sawyer as he recalled the physical pain he felt.
