He played the role of Tom in the 1968 horror fim classic Night of the Living Dead. The movie proved to be Wayne's only feature film role. Keith Wayne committed suicide on September 8th, 1995 in Cary, North Carolina. He was fifty-years-old at the time of his death.
At the airport, after some resistance, Keith finally expresses his true feelings for Natalie, and Natalie tells Keith that she wants to be with him even though he will die one day soon. They kiss and embrace. The film then cuts to when Natalie graduates; Keith is not mentioned and has presumably died from cancer.
During one particular fight, this resulted in Christopher punching Keith so hard in the head that he suffered a seizure, and died shortly after. Auggie took no responsibility for Keith's death, and placed the blame solely on Christopher. The rift between the two would only grow over time.
Keith, it turns out, really was a nice guy. But he gets his head smashed in by the film's memorable monster, the Mother (Matthew Patrick Davis) who then captures Tess.
When he does not return, Tess follows him and finds a subterranean tunnel attached to the hidden corridor, where she finds Keith injured. While they argue about where to go, the pair are attacked by a naked, deformed woman known as Mother who kills Keith by violently bashing his skull against a wall.
