FAQs
Lenny is one of Britain's best known and best loved personalities. He's an actor, writer, comedian and television presenter who co-founded Comic Relief in 1985.
Following a BA in English with the Open University, Sir Lenny joined Royal Holloway's postgraduate screenwriting course in 2009. He then completed a PhD in the Department of Media Arts under the guidance of professors Sue Clayton and John Hill, the process for which he described as “demanding but transformative”.
Discussing his departure earlier this week, Sir Lenny said: I think it needs new blood, and I'm definitely old blood. So it is time for change. The 65-year-old added: This is a good time to part ways and to allow a new generation to take the baton and move the whole thing on a bit.
He later added serious acting roles to his repertoire. In addition, Henry cofounded and hosted the British version of Comic Relief. As a teenager, Henry performed a comedy act in local nightclubs, which led to a successful appearance on the television talent program New Faces when he was 16 years old.
