11 Téa Leoni. Jennifer Aniston was not the first person producers were interested in playing Rachel Green. Téa Leoni was actually the first choice for the role of Rachel on Friends, but she turned it down to star in a different sitcom, The Naked Truth.
Jennifer had her first taste of acting at age 11 when she joined the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club. It was also at the Rudolf Steiner School that she developed her passion for art. She began her professional training as a drama student at New York's School of Performing Arts, aka the Fame school.
All six main actors in Friends had prior experience in situation comedy, and, in some cases, improvisational comedy as well. All six actors appear in every episode.
Chandler Bing turned out to be the hardest part to cast. The creators needed someone who could deliver dry humor without coming across as a jerk. While Matthew Perry was considered early on for the role, he was committed to another pilot about baggage handlers, a show called LAX 2194.
