Frost's personal life was plagued by grief and loss. In 1885, when he was 11, his father died of tuberculosis, leaving the family with just eight dollars. Frost's mother died of cancer in 1900. In 1920, he had to commit his younger sister Jeanie to a mental hospital, where she died nine years later.
He was inspired by the landscape around him, and often used nature in his poetry to explore complicated social and philosophical issues. Additionally, Robert Frost named William Butler Yeats, John Keats, and Thomas Hardy (other writers) as inspirations for his work.
At times, Frost explicitly announced that he was not in any way religious, as when in a letter dated December 2, 1917, he wrote to Amy Lowell, “I have been a Presbyterian, an Emersonian, a Swedenborgian, nothing” (SL 226).
Due to years of being isolated from her elder sister, she is prone to talking to paintings or to herself, hence why she is so desperate for love, as Prince Hans puts it. At the end of Frozen, she finally found someone to love in the form of Kristoff.
