Born in 2002, Joshua was the product of an extramarital fling between Maxine and Matt Ramsden, but Ashley chose to forgive Maxine and raise him as his own son. In 2003, following Maxine's murder by Richard Hillman, Ashley hired Claire Casey as a nanny for Joshua.
Departure. The Peacocks' departure tied in with the show's 50th anniversary celebrations. The anniversary episode was broadcast live on 9 December 2010, with Ashley being killed-off in an explosion, taking place at The Joinery, which caused a tram to derail onto the street.
