On NBC's breakout hit, McRaney plays Dr. Nathan Dr. K Katowski, the endearingly sharp-witted obstetrician who delivers Kate and Kevin in 1980, and provides wisdom to their grief-stricken father, Jack, after breaking the news that a third child was stillborn.
McRaney married his third wife, actress Delta Burke, on May 28, 1989; they had met two years earlier during her guest appearance on a Simon & Simon episode.
But McRaney is perhaps best known for his character as Rick Simon in the television show Simon & Simon (1981-1989). He has had major roles in popular shows like Major Dad (1989-1993) and Promised Land (1996-1999).
