The original Cruella de Vil, American actress Betty Lou Gerson voiced the character in Walt Disney's very first adaptation of Dodie Smith's novel, the 1961 animation One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Gerson was later honoured with a Disney Legend Award in 1996 for her career.
