Actors like Jason London, Rory Cochrane and Nicky Katt went on to solid careers, though none landed roles more memorable than their Dazed and Confused performances. Interestingly, the biggest stars came out of smaller roles in the film, with the cream rising to the top long after the film's release.
Most of them were between the ages of 16 and 21, playing 17- and 18-year-olds. Milla Jovovich and Wiley Wiggins were 16, Cole Hauser was 17, Marissa Ribisi was 18, Jeremy London was 19, Ben Affleck was 20, etc.
Shawn Andrews and Jason London did not get along during filming. At one point, Richard Linklater had to break up a fight between them. It changed the ending, which was going to feature Pickford instead of Wooderson. It also explains their almost total lack of dialogue despite sharing several scenes.
