Jane Grey was born on May 22, 1883 in Middlebury, Vermont, USA. She was an actress, known for The Little Gray Lady (1914), Her Fighting Chance (1917) and The Waifs (1916). She was married to Hugh Whitfield Martin (aka Riccardo Martin) and William E. Tyrrel.
Someone stepped in to help, and Jane laid her head on the block. As she spoke her last words: 'Lord, into thy hands I commend my spirit', the axe fell. Jane was just 17 years old.
She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to death. The execution of the sentence was suspended, but the participation of her father, in early February 1554, in Sir Thomas Wyatt's rebellion sealed her fate. She and her husband were beheaded on February 12, 1554; her father was executed 11 days later.
A little over 450 years ago, a young girl of sixteen, Lady Jane Grey, was proclaimed Queen of England. She is famous because her reign was to last for only nine days, and she met a tragic end.
Her face is long, oval in shape, with a high forehead. Her hair is straight in texture, parted in the centre, and pulled back over her ears, and placed under her coif of gold fabric. Her eyes are brown, heavy lidded, and are crooked in appearance.
