Long gloves were on runways at JW Anderson and Balenciaga last September, after all. They cropped up recently at the most-talked-about Paris shows, like Rocha's highly anticipated return to the calendar, the always viral Vaquera, or trend-prophesying Miu Miu.
Opera gloves. It has buttons at the wrist which allowed women to free their hands without completely taking off the glove for occasions such as eating. Wearing gloves was considered a mandatory form of etiquette in the Victorian times especially amongst the upper class.

Gloves should be kept on when meeting and greeting fellow party-goers, but should most definitely be removed to dine (or to smoke, tut tut). In fact, if we're being really strict, it's also advised to remove an opera glove when drinking, so as to avoid spilling anything on your precious pair.
