The show is called 1923, a Paramount Plus TV series that has chosen Austin as its base for filming operations and production. The show stars Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. It is an American western drama prequel to the popular TV series called Yellowstone.
Hundreds of films and television series have been produced in Austin over the past 50 years (check out our filmography). Many of these iconic productions captured the cultural zeitgeist of the time, including the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dazed and Confused, Office Space, Friday Night Lights and many more.
The lobby bar is a great place to hang out. This is an artsy move theater where today we were seeing '1917'. The theaters are reasonably small but has great comfy chairs that recline.
It's Showtime!. Admission is free for any student (plus one guest) with their UT ID. All film screenings take place in the Texas Union Theater unless otherwise stated.
